manager. Table for DJ - La mesa, por favor: Please arrange to have a table at least 6 feet wide and 3 feet deep with linen set up in the exact location you desire. We suggest adjacent to the dance floor, not blocking a door and close to a grounded outlet. This will eliminate any confusion as to where we will set up upon arrival. Also, the linen will match the rest of your tables. Feel free to place flowers on or around the table. Better earlier than never - Meals for vendors:It is customary for the host to arrange for a meal for vendors including photographers, musicians and DJs. (We didn't start this tradition though we can't argue with it.) Many caterers make the big mistake of serving the vendors the main course after the guests have eaten are are ready to boogie (as though they were planning on running out of food). Some even forget to provide a table for the vendors. The wise caterer will serve the vendors the main course as soon as guests are fed. Thus, we will be ready to play dance music when your guests are ready. Your caterer will usually be happy to comply knowing that you prefer having a successful event. Most of the establishments that recommend BOK-Music don't need to be reminded. Rain - Are we covered? For outdoor events, adequate protection from the elements for
entertainers is the host's responsibility. Our agreement is with you, not the
venue. This is serious since it can be life-threatening or at least, shocking.
Normally, we are comfortable in any space that your guests would find fitting. What time is the event really over?Sometimes there is confusion over what time the event begins and ends. There may be discrepancies in the exact beginning and ending times for the venue, the caterer and the musicians. We suggest you coordinate your time frame so that everyone is in synch. We have been party (no pun intended) to some embarrassing situations where a host asked us to play music to midnight when the restaurant was planning on ending at 11:30 PM. Some venues have a cool-down period during which they prefer ending the dance music, allowing quiet music for the remaining half hour. Please let us know if there are any questions regarding the above.
