Janice & Tony – Tribeca Rooftop – NYC – June 2012

Wedding Wire 5 star review:

I would highly recommend Brendan and the rest of the BOK team to anybody looking for a professional and accommodating DJ/band. We used BOK musicians for the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception of our wedding.

From the very beginning, Brendan was so easy to work with. He was quick to respond to all our questions (we had A LOT of questions). He made sure everyone was on the same page in terms of what was going to happen the day of. He was willing and eager to try and meet all of our musical demands. I wanted a specific hymn to be played while I walked out and another specific instrumental to be played during the recessional and he worked with us to find the right musician who could play those songs.

Before the wedding, we were kind of nervous about what songs were going to be played during the reception because although we drafted a song list, it was nowhere near enough to last the night. However, once we met Brendan on the day of, we knew we were in good hands. From our previous conversations, he understand exactly what types of music we did and did not want. The wedding turned out beautifully and BOK Music had a large part to do with that.

Groom’s comments:

Hey Brendan,

Now that we’ve had a couple days to decompress from all of it, I wanted to take this chance to say a quick thank you to you and your team. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! A more formal “Thank You” will be coming shortly but I had to get this email out first.

To be honest, out of all the different moving parts on Sunday, the music was the one area that I felt the least prepared for. However, all my worries went away the moment you introduced yourself to us. I felt like I was in good hands and I’m glad I was right.

Everything from the ceremony to the reception just went so smoothly (and quickly) and you guys had a large part to do with that. I know there was one little glitch during the ceremony when the Edith Piaf song started playing during when our dog walked out but I don’t think anybody noticed and Janice looked too beautiful anyway for anybody to care.

I know Janice and I weren’t too helpful with the song list but it turned out we didn’t need to be. Everybody was dancing!

I really can’t say enough about how smoothly the night went by. At this point, I’m just blabbering but really, thank you for being so easy to work with and so accommodating.

Please let us know where we can write reviews for you. We would love to help spread the word of BOK anyway we can. Thank you again Brendan!

Beatrice & Paul – Crabtree’s Kittle House 02/19/2012

Hi Brendan,
Sunday was such a great and easy day for us all around. Your attentiveness was very appreciated. I did think there would be more funk and soul at the start of the reception (it went really quickly into modern music with not much 60s 70s and 80s). With that said the dance floor was kept pretty full, I was on it most of the night and all of the feedback from others was great – so all good here!
Thanks again,
Bea

Dear Beatrice,
Thanks for the feedback. We got hit with many requests and as much as I would have loved to keep up the soul and funk, your guests were on us all night. I took a look at the log and see that we were able to play about 14 funk/r&b/soul tunes from the 60s-70s, but it would have been nice to have had more time 🙂

Have a wonderful life together!

Brendan

Pam & Doug – CV Rich Mansion – White Plains – October 2011

Pam & Doug and their guests were treated to a Baroque violin, flute and harpsichord wedding ceremony and an amazing October day. Later, in the grand ballroom, everyone got the feeling.

Thank you for a wonderful night of music and entertainment! My guests loved you and so did we. The musicians added such a classy touch to cocktail hour. And the music throughout the reception was just perfect. Thank you for being so flexible with our music selections, it made it so personal.
It was a great day! Thank you for all you and your crew did!
I will definitely keep you in mind for future events and I will be happy to recommend you to family and friends.
Fondly,
Pamela : )

Kaitlin & Michael at Stamford Yacht Club 8/6/2011

BOK music made my job that much easier. They never once left a doubt in my head that they weren’t on top of things. They sent lists to me of items that they were bringing and were proactive about indicating their  power needs, and table requirements. They supplied their own wireless mic and amplification and made sure that I had all emergency contact numbers before I even had to ask. As a wedding planner it is always a joy to work with an experienced and knowledgeable crew. They kept me in the loop always when it came to song selections that the bride and groom had made directly with them and the biggest positive is they were at the event long before their scheduled arrival and my master time sheet. That always wins you huge points with the wedding planner! I would recommend them to anyone I know as they kept the flow of the event on pace and kept the crowd on their feet. They are a fabulous DJ and I cannot say enough great things about them!
